How about - allow you to use GSC in the ship or even courier mission packages . When it blows it drops nothing - just like now. Finished and everyone is happy. Apart from the pirates who blew you up .. but fukkem.

But that has no connection to freighters that are still in one piece ... ... you can pop a freighter and not leave any loot whether it had giant cans in or not ...
